FSARG are part of the Faversham Society. The aim of the Faversham Society is: Preserving the heritage and fabric of the historic town of Faversham and its surrounding parishes.

National Library of Scotland (Maps)
The NLS has responsibility of the digital archive of historic Ordnance Survey Maps for Scotland, England, Wales and the Isle of Man.
Kent Archives Service
The Kent County Document Archives and Local History Collection, available for on-line searching and to visit.

Kent Archaeological Society (KAS)
Promotes advances in knowledge of Kent’s archaeology and history by fieldwork and documentary research and the publication of the results.
Historical Research Group Sittingbourne (HRGS)
A local group that concentrates on local history research but also does archaeological investigations. They have a programme of talks on historical and archaeological topics.
Timescapes Kent
A local group concentrates on Whitstable, Seasalter and Tankerton intertidal archaeology and local history, particularly WWII.
Faversham Creek Trust
Preserving and restoring the uses of Faversham Creek and its surroundings.
Faversham Historians Group

Local Commercial Organisations Offering Volunteer Training Opportunities
CAT (Canterbury Archaeological Trust)
A local archaeological contractor that has an active community outreach. It has many interesting publications for sale on its website and a large archive.
FCAT (Friends of CAT)
Offers many volunteering opportunities, membership entitles you to regular newsletters, discounts on CAT courses, talks and publications.
SWAT (Swale and Thames Survey Company) Archaeology
A local commercial archaeological organisation. The reports from SWAT are available on their website.
KAFS Kent Archaeological Field School
The training organisation part of SWAT offering training to members of the public and professionals and opportunities for work on excavations in Kent and around Pompeii. For a list of courses, newsletters, and reports see their website.
Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit
Founded in 1970 the Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit has excavated 400 sites throughout Kent. The unit continues to excavate, record, publish and protect the rich history of Kent to this day.
